Popular among those who don't want to bother actually learning to shoot (or those who have, and who just like putting lots of holes in the target), the 12-barrel Gatling Pistol has spread through the Weird West slowly but surely. Gatling pistols are legal in most towns, but lawmen tend to view those who carry them with suspicion; they are also fast becoming the favored weapon of the Pinkerton Detective Agency. The standard model comes chambered for .36 caliber bullets. Custom jobs are available in other calibers, but at 5x cost. Modifying one yourself requires 16 hours' work in a workshop and an unmodified Weird Science roll or an Armory (Small Arms) roll at -4.

Gatling Pistol: 2d-1 pi; Acc 1; Range 100/1000; Weight 3.5/0.25; ROF 3; Shots 12; ST 10; Bulk -3; RCL 2. -2 on Fast Draw skill due to unwieldy multi-barrel configuration. Costs $4500.

Malfunctions: On an attack roll of 16, the gun jams; spend five seconds clearing it. On a 17 one of the barrels blows; the gun cannot be fired again until repaired, requiring 6 hours in a workshop and an unmodified Weird Science roll or an Armory (Small Arms) roll at -2. On an 18 the gun backfires badly, dealing 2d-1 piercing damage to the hand holding it and requiring major repairs: 16 hours in a workshop and a Weird Science roll at -2 or Armory (Small Arms) at -8.
